Structural Steel Fabricating

Our structural shop has the equipment and personnel to fill virtually any order from large industrial and commercial jobs to small specialty jobs. Cutting, shearing, punching, grinding, welding, bending, rolling - these operations and others are performed at the various work stations by workers who are experts at their craft. Our shop machines provide a wide range of capacities for all types of steel fabrication, such as power plant gallery steel, refinery structures, walkways, ladders, tanks, pipe and angle railing, cattle guards and conveyor supports - to name a few.

Reinforcing Steel Department

Our rebar facility handles those commercial and industrial jobs that require fabricated steel reinforcement for concrete. The AIW rebar shop fabricates approximately 29,000 tons annually. This work is performed on AIW manufactured machines, EVG Machines bending shapes from coil stock, and on a Ergon straighten and cut machine using coil stock to make #3's, #4's, and #5's with no wastage. The KRP722HD Spiral Hooper machine is also used.

Fabricating Rebar shapes and straight lengths from coils, minimizes waste, improves production and ensures AIW of being a low cost producer, translating to a savings for our customers.

Detailing Department

Exact specifications are followed for your job requirements. Trained, skilled draftsmen work from the customers drawings utilizing the state of the art SDS/2 software to create shop drawings. Proper fit-up can save labor - and time.

Estimating Department

Realizing the critical nature of cost bidding, we maintain a staff of experienced, knowledgeable estimators. Bids are based on information received from your pre-engineering drawings. Our estimators stay current on material and production costs, which affects accurate bidding - saving you money.
